About Elizabeth Ann Binks
Violin teacher in the Surbiton area
At the Guildhall School of Music, Elizabeth Binks achieved the AGSM and the coveted Salzmann Scholarship which enabled her to study for a further year, gaining the Guildhall’s Certificate of Advanced Studies. A recipient of the Scottish Arts Council Award, she has been a member and leader of several high calibre professional orchestras including the Virtuosi of London, Scottish Opera, and the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company. She has also performed with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra, the Philharmonia and many others.
Educational work has been a strong commitment in Elizabeth’s career and has included teaching positions at Wells Cathedral School and the Guildhall School of Music.
Elizabeth performs three or four major concertos per year with various orchestras. She also collaborates regularly with Paul Sarcich, who runs the Morley College conductors’ course in London, where she works with student conductors as guest soloist.
Elizabeth is at present preparing one of Paul Sarcich’s compositions for solo violin.
